An Act of Fear

It’s so easy to let go of your dreams.

You tell yourself it’s too hard, that you’re not good enough, or not smart enough, strong enough. That you won’t succeed no matter how hard you try.  It’s like sand – it just slips through your fingers the harder you try to grasp. So, you let them go. You tear open that part of yourself and let them catch in the wind and fly away from you. You do it in a dark place, with no one watching to know that they even existed.

I know a secret about dreams. I know that they’re possible – that can come true, in fact, they do. It’s a difficult journey, scary even, and everything changes when you take that path. And I know, that if you let them go, if you never go after them, then they definitely never happen.

I never want to live with regrets.
