It’s been a long winter, and I feel as if I’ve jerked awake from my creative slumber. The weather is warming (finally!) and the ideas are spilling from me faster than I can write them down. It’s been a good 6 months since I’ve felt this kind of momentum, and it seems to me that I flow with the seasons. And we kicked off spring with a bang!
I started off with a visit to my friend and model Lauren, and we did a quick photo and a long visit to catch up at the end of March.

Early in April, a group of us, Trevor, Danny, Jess and Jade went off on a cold Sunday morning to the Spirit Sands in Manitoba’s Spruce Woods Provincial Park. It’s a little desert oasis in the middle of nowhere, and is deadly cool. We took a trip down there two years ago (when I photographed Procella) and have always meant to return.

I shot four images there, and this is the first. I’m so happy with how this one turned out, and I’m really excited to get through the rest of them!

Something else that was really exciting is my good friend Emily (who is a master of everything) entered in to the CBC spotlight for new musicians (cross your fingers for her)! She certainly deserves all the praise for her work. I was honored to help her make her album art last fall! You can buy her first single, Polaris, on Itunes and Amazon!
Other new things:
- I’ve got myself a new beast of a computer, and am able to create speed edits again (read to the end for one of The Time Turner and Mors Arenarius)!
- I’m now going to be creating mini tutorials (so send me your requests on what you’d like to know!)
- I now offer one on one tutorial sessions for compositing. There’s more information about that in my Investments section!
- I’m hoping to create an online workshop for creative compositing from conception to production.
This is going to be a very exciting year! What sort of things do you have in store? Let me know your summer plans!
