There are times when I’m just not happy with what I’ve made. I’ll finish the image, and just be left feeling like something wasn’t right. Sometimes, I go back and look later and think I was just in a mood. And sometimes, on rare occasions, I pull it back for a second look in photoshop.
Sometimes, some time away and then to come back to it just makes all the difference.
The initial edit of this image was just way, way to dark and flat. I really enjoyed the texture and the color, which prompted me to save it in the first place, but I left it feeling unfinished. It’s been grating on my mind, and I knew this was one that could be better if I worked on it some more.
I’m really pleased with the image now. Without further ado!

Beautiful, Jen, the Raven before the storm. I love the way the cracks radiate out from where her foot touches the ground.

Thanks Steven! I actually really like the sound of The Raven better than Fragility, so maybe I’m looking at a title change!
I’m logged out of DA for my year away from social media, so unfortunately not! That said, I think there’s a way with html formatting to put an image into your journal that outsources to the website. Maybe check out the FAQ’s? It might only be a premium feature.
They’ll all be going up in September when I come back. 🙂
